“One Molesworth Street now enhances the location’s architectural heritage by its use of the highest quality natural stone and glass.”It is located on an island site where Molesworth Street and Dawson Streets meet. And here each of the building’s public faces are inspired by the street onto which they front.
Molesworth Street is already one of Dublin’s most distinguished addresses. One Molesworth Street now enhances the location’s architectural heritage by its use of the highest quality natural stone and glass. And echoing neighbouring buildings, Dawson Street‘s airier façade features vertical glass fins, solid bronze and a bronze anodised ‘brise soleil’.
Its island location bathes One Molesworth Street in natural light which is enhanced by the absence of internal columns. Light also adds to the grandeur of its double height reception area, as does the imaginative use of backlit onyx stone.
One Molesworth Street also commands some of Dublin’s finest views. Government Buildings can be seen from its Molesworth Street terrace while Trinity College and St Stephens Green are visible from Dawson Street.
Sustainability was an overarching concern in One Molesworth Street’s initial design brief. This requirement was met and exceeded and the building has achieved LEED Platinum, the highest possible mark of sustainability.
Many initiatives contribute to the building’s impressive score. These include CHP & VP units to the green roof, rainwater harvesting system, low energy LED light fittings and parking for 100 bikes.
One Molesworth Street is situated in one of the city’s most desirable locations. At the heart of Dublin’s political and business districts, the capital’s most exclusive shopping quarter is also on its doorstep. And adding to its premium character, many the city’s most sought-after restaurants and hotels are close at hand.
